Ensete ventricosum ‘Maurelli‘, también conocido como plátano rojo de Abisinia, es una variedad de planta perteneciente a la familia de las bananáceas (Musaceae). A diferencia de muchas otras especies de plátanos, Ensete ventricosum ‘Maurelli’ no es resistente al frío y no tolera las heladas. Es una planta tropical que requiere temperaturas cálidas para crecer adecuadamente.
